ICCONS Trivandrum

The Trivandrum center was started in the year 1998. Since then it is functioning in a rented building. The Govt. of Kerala has provided 3 acres of land for building a Hospital at Pulayanarkotta, Thiruvananthapuram for the future development and functioning of the Trivandrum center. The center has well established electrophysiology and Audiology labs.It has registered almost 8,000 cases and majority of them are children with various types of developmental disabilities. In addition adults with dementia, post stroke aphasia, post infectious and post traumatic cases are also attending the institution. The institute is providing only out patient services at present but wish to extend Inpatient and Emergency Services also once the Proposed Project is implemented. The Institute is well recognized and accepted by the public for its outstanding services to children with learning disabilities, autism, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment,multiple congenital anomalies and other genetic and metabolic and endocrine disorders. Over 40 staff members are working in this institution including Neurologists, Pediatrician, Speech Language Pathologists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Special Educators and Sociologists. The institute is running a special school which gives daily development training programs for children with various types of disabilities.
