BASLP Course

The Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is a graduate level course. This is a full-time four-year course including one year of internship. Its main aim is to generate skilled and efficient manpower to work effectively with persons having communication disorders. Throughout the course, the emphasis is on the development of clinical and research skills. They have opportunities to work in hospitals, special schools, speech and hearing institutes, hearing instrument manufacturing industry, government and non government agencies working for the disabled as well as to do independent practice. Excellent opportunities await abroad for higher studies and practice.


    Eligibility for Admission


  • The candidate applying for admission to BASLP course should have obtained a minimum of 50% (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in 10+2 examination or equivalent / two years of Pre- University/ Pre- Degree examination conducted by the Pre University / Pre Degree Board of Education of Government of the respective State, and further
  • The applicant /candidate should have studied: Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Electronics / Psychology.
  • At the time of entry / admission to the first year of BASLP course the candidate should be of age of 17 years or above.

    Distribution of Seats


    The number of seats available is 20. Seats are reserved for merit and Management quota.

  • Admission to seats under the reservation category shall be in accordance with the State Govt. rules pertaining to reservation for admission to professional courses.
  • If any seat in the reservation quota is left unavailed by candidates belonging to that particular category those seats shall go to open merit pool.
  • The Society shall be the sole authority for final decision on seat allocation.


    Foreign Nationals


    Foreign nationals have maximum of 12.5% of the seat.

  • All foreign students abroad, are required to approach the Indian Embassies in their countries and apply well in advance if they fulfill the eligibility requirements. Those foreign students in India should first apply to the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development and obtain a Clearance-cum-No Objection Certificate for admission to this Institute. They should then apply to the Ministry of External Affairs, for forwarding it to the Institute. Only such candidates will be permitted to appear for entrance tests at this Institute, subject to their fulfilling the eligibility requirements as applicable to the general candidates. They will be admitted only if found suitable. No admission to foreign students will be given if their passport shows any type of visa, other than student/provisional student visa. Students having ‘X’ entry visa have to go back to their countries even if they get admission in Indian Universities on the expiry of the initial period of stay allowed in their original visa. Under no circumstances, a change of purpose of visit to India is allowed. No change of Institution (other than that mentioned in the student’s visa/provisional student’s visa) is allowed.
  • Self-supporting foreign nationals should also give the relevant data. Their admission is subject to the regulations of the Government of India. They should deposit a specified amount with the Institute immediately on admission, to cover the first year’s fees plus boarding and lodging charges and related expenses. The Institute does not offer financial assistance to foreign nationals. They should give an undertaking to undergo a HIV/AIDS tests as per Government of India regulations.

    NRI Quota


    Candidates seeking admission under NRI quota should produce along with the application, one of the following documents to prove the NRI status of his/her parent and a declaration of the NRI in the prescribed form to establish his/her relationship with the candidate.

  • a) Attested copy (by Embassy Official) of the relevant pages of the Passport containing Visa details.
  • b) Attested copy (by Embassy Official) of the Employment Certificate and relevant pages of Passport.
  • c) Certificate issued by a scheduled bank stating that he/she is a Non-Resident Indian holding an NRI account other than a zero balance account.

    Selection procedure:


    Selection of candidates in merit quota and management quota will be by LBS Centre for Science and Technology (LBSCS &T) on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

    Candidates will be allotted to ICCONS based on the rank list prepared on the basis of mark obtained in plus two examinations. Candidates have to follow instructions given by LBS Centre.Further details can be obtained from the LBS Centre website https://www.lbscentre.in/

    NB: There is no separate online application form for BASLP. For eligibility criteria and other instructions, read the prospectus which is available on the LBS Centre admissions portal. LBS Centre is the sole authority in conducting this admission process, hence you have to contact LBS Centre for enquiries related to the online application process.

  • • A student once admitted is intended to carry the course to completion. Refund of any fee is admissible only to those candidates who secure admission on merit quota to any other equivalent or higher course conducted in the same manner during the academic year. No refund of fee can be made to students admitted either in Govt. merit or on management quota who discontinue the course after the date of closure of admission
  • • A candidate admitted, on discontinuance of course, in the first year, after the cut-off date for closing of admissions fixed by the Govt. for joining other courses / colleges or for any other reason are liable to pay liquidated damages equal to the special fee and tuition fee to be paid for the entire course irrespective of caste or reservation
