The aim of this Project is to develop a premier institution in the nature of a Deemed University of National and International Importance within the concept of the Proposal of Govt. of India to start Universities of unique nature which can incorporate Medical Sciences, Paramedical Sciences, Basic Sciences, Engineering, Management and Law. The project envisages on the development of the entire spectrum of skills, intelligence and resources required for the comprehensive management of developmental and acquired disabilities and Non-communicable Neurological Disorders and enable persons with disability to cope up with their disabilities and be citizens who can lead a normal life and contribute to the development of the Nation. Important by-products that are anticipated with concomitant research in this area can unravel the mystery of brain function related to human cognition, memory, intelligence, language processing, behaviour, ageing and human robotics. No need to mention that it has important impact in the economic development of the country in many ways.
The project proposed is a multidisciplinary interactive one imbibing the current advancement in the field of Neurosciences, Medical Sciences, Engineering, Computer sciences, Basic Sciences, Genetics and Nanotechnology with simultaneous development including human resources for management and research.
The proposed deemed University will have the profile of an International University comprising of a Medical Institution, a biomedical engineering institution, Institution for Basic Sciences &Genetics, Computer & Nanotechnology Division , Institution for allied Medical Sciences , Management Institution for hospital administration & health Policies and Law college dealing with Legal Aspects of Health administration and regulations pertaining to treatment and research.
Though these institutions have partial independence in performance and research activities the general objective is unified towards a comprehensive management of a major group of developmental disabilities and Non communicable Neurological Disorders. The team leader for the project will be a Neurologist with experience and outstanding contribution in the area of these disorders while the different disciplines will be chaired by competitive counter parts with high academic profile. The general objectives of each sector will be divided into Human Service sector, Manpower & resource development sector, research & development sector and Sector for communication, education & permeation of information. Each Sector has to develop its own strategies and educational program that leads award of degrees or fellowships in par with international standards and equivalents and recognizable at national and International level.
Without prejudice into the individual disciplines interest and objectives which may be adapted in due course development, the following general programs are proposed as the main objective and strategies of the present project.
